Chinese, Iranian presidents reach good agreements: FM Amirabdollahian

Tehran, IRNA – Iranian Foreign Minister Hossein Amirabdollahian has underscored that the presidents of China and Iran have reached good agreements in various issues.

Amirabdollahian, who accompanies President Ebrahim Raisi on his visit to China, said on Wednesday that the achieved agreements can boost economic, trade, tourism, cultural, scientific, technological, and industrial cooperation between the two countries.

Yesterday’s meeting and talks between President Raisi and his Chinese counterpart Xi Jinping helped them thoroughly review the various aspects of bilateral, regional, and international cooperation between China and Iran, the top Iranian diplomat noted.

Both presidents have reached an agreement to remove obstacles in the way of implementing the 25-year Iran-China Strategic Partnership Plan, he said, adding that fortunately, related ministers in particular the economic teams of both governments attended the meeting.

We are very optimistic that as a result of negotiations and consensus, the existing mutual cooperation in economic, trade, cultural, tourism, scientific, technological, and industrial fields would grow more than ever, the foreign minister said.

The Iranian president leads a high-ranking economic and political delegation on his trip to China. This is the first state visit by a president of the Islamic Republic of Iran to China in 20 years.

On the first day of Raisi’s three-day visit to Beijing, the Iranian and Chinese officials inked 20 documents of cooperation in various fields, including crisis management, tourism, communication and information technology, environment, international trade, intellectual property, agriculture, export, healthcare, media, sports, and cultural heritage.
